Euless, Texas was buzzing with dodgeball excitement. Teams showed up early to get themselves ready for the intense upcoming action. They simply couldn’t wait as Dallas/ Euless, TX was host to the NDL’s new Big Ball division, which included a enlarged Neutral Zone to increase the action and six, 8.5 inch balls.
Experience was a real advantage, and it showed as the Adrenaline Rush was able to piece things together early on and dominated the Big Ball tournament. The Motorboats and Impulse made great efforts but it was the Assassins who advanced to the final bracket. Making a valiant effort, the Assassins tried to pull together a victory, but the Adrenaline Rush was just too much for them. Congratulations to our first Big Ball division champion, the Adrenalin Rush.
After a short break, the teams were ready for the faster paced Stinger division. Where the teams found themselves facing not only Stingers but a reduced neutral zone as well. This resulted in a more strategic game. The teams also seemed more evenly matched and were able to hold things together longer, making for a very competitive Stinger bracket.
The added competition seemed to make little difference to Adrenaline Rush who advanced quickly to the final bracket and a final end game against the Superior Spartans. The Superior Spartans were unable to live up to their name and fell against the Adrenaline Rush who walk away with another victory and a Stinger Division title.
Special thanks to our Ryan Almon, our Ref’s and Arena Athletics for the use of their facility. We look forward to our next stop in Texas and the 2008 Dodgeball World Championship in Las Vegas. Hope to see you there!
