Chicagoland welcomed the NDL with some very strong teams. Cheese and Crackers was a finalist at the 2006 Dodgeball World Championship in Las Vegas and team Radd also had a lot of Vegas veterans. The Legends put on a great show and The Worst Team Ever and Team Iowa refused to go down without a fight. The Ninjas came with a whole lot of talent and a great bunch of fans. The Shoxs brought humor and some unique dodgeball skills to the court. And team Erie Beach Trash was there fresh off the Minneapolis Tour Stop the night before. In the end, Cheese and Crackers took home the victory, with Radd coming in a close second.
After the Tournament, teams headed over to the local watering hole to get "prepared" for the half-time exhibition game. Calls were debated, Rule and playing styles were compared and new friends were made. A few hours later it was back to the Sears Center were they played again during halftime of the Shamrox professional LaCrosse game and put on a dodgeball show for thousand of fans. All in all it was a fun tournament and teams vowed they would be ready the next time the NDL rolled into Chicagoland.
Thank you to all teams that participated! We hope you can all join us elsewhere on tour, Aug. 8-10th in Las Vegas for the 2008 Dodgeball World Championship, and in Chicago again next year!
Congratulations to all of our winners from the Chicago, IL tournament. The competition was fierce and these teams were able to hold their own and walked away as NDL Dodgeball Champions.
